Who is Rob Polli and what is the story behind Nicċeċ?
Nicċeċ is researched, written, and photographed by Rob Polli, a documentary photographer and heritage researcher based in Malta. He personally visits and documents each street shrine — walking the streets of Victoria, Gozo to capture details otherwise invisible from street level.
His work is an independent, long-term effort driven by a genuine passion for Gozo's religious and architectural heritage — a world of small shrines quietly holding centuries of devotion.
With no institutional backing or funding, Nicċeċ has been built step by step, field visit by field visit, as a permanent digital record of Victoria's sacred streetscape.
